In Moldova, children up to 12 may travel in a car only in a restraint suited to their weight and height (a child seat or booster) and may not sit in the front. At LilRent you get a child seat on request, fitted before handover.
What the Road Traffic Regulation says
- Children up to 12 travel with a restraint system (child seat, special cushion or booster) that meets safety standards and fits the child's weight and height (point 82)
- The child must sit so the seat belt fits correctly across the hips and shoulder (point 82)
- Carrying children up to 12 on the front seat of a car is prohibited (point 83 d)
- All passengers wear seat belts where the car has them (point 84)
Which seat fits, as a guide
| Child | Seat type |
|---|---|
| Baby, up to about 13 kg | Infant carrier, rear-facing |
| About 9-18 kg | Child seat with its own harness |
| About 15-36 kg | High-back seat or booster with the car's belt |
Weight and height matter, not just age. Tell us the child's age and approximate weight when booking and we choose the right seat.
